NBC Renews 'The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins' for Season 2

The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins is officially returning to NBC for a second season. The network has renewed the comedy series, which stars Tracy Morgan, for a sophomore run consisting of 10 episodes.

The sports mockumentary, which features Morgan as a disgraced former football star attempting to rehabilitate his public image, has been a significant success for the network. Since its premiere on Jan. 18, the show has drawn more than 14 million viewers, quickly establishing itself as the number one comedy telecast of the season across all broadcast networks.

The series, co-created by 30 Rock alumni Robert Carlock and Sam Means with executive production from Tina Fey, follows Reggie Dinkins as he navigates his comeback with the assistance of filmmaker Arthur Tobin, played by Daniel Radcliffe, alongside his family and friends. The ensemble cast also includes Erika Alexander as Reggie's ex-wife, Monica; Bobby Moynihan as his best friend, Rusty; Precious Way as his girlfriend, Brina; and Jalyn Hall as his teenage son, Carmelo.

Reflecting on the show's origins, Robert Carlock previously shared that the project began after a casual conversation with Tracy Morgan. The creative team saw it as a unique opportunity to reunite their established collaborative circle. Regarding the casting of Daniel Radcliffe, Carlock noted that he had the actor in mind while writing the character of Arthur, even before Radcliffe was officially attached to the project.
