Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath ‘Back To The Beginning’ Release Announced

The soundtrack and film for the historic Back To The Beginning show, featuring Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath, are officially set for release. This monumental project captures the essence of a landmark event, complete with behind-the-scenes footage and heartfelt video tributes from industry icons like Dolly Parton.

The massive one-day event, organized by Sharon Osbourne with musical direction from Tom Morello, took place at Villa Park in Birmingham in July 2025. It served as a poignant milestone, marking both Osbourne’s final solo performance and the last live appearance of the original Black Sabbath line-up, reuniting Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward on stage for the first time in two decades.

A Historic Celebration of Rock Legacy

The concert featured an array of legendary performers, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, and Slayer, alongside contemporary acts like Yungblud and Ghost’s Tobias Forge. Following the event, it was confirmed that the gig successfully raised approximately £11 million for charity. The concert film, which documents this historic gathering, arrives in cinemas today.

Fans can look forward to the official release of the soundtrack and concert film on December 11, available across multiple formats including 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, CD, and vinyl. Highlights of the Blu-ray release include special performances by Jack Black and Fred Durst, as well as the Sounds of Birmingham documentary.

“‘Back to the Beginning’ was a once-in-a-lifetime event that will go down in music history,” said Sharon Osbourne. “Ozzy suffered from chronic pain during the final six years of his life. His only wish was to perform one last time to thank his fans and say goodbye.”

Deluxe Box Set and Future Collectibles

For dedicated collectors, a ‘Deluxe Box Set’ is scheduled for release on April 23, 2027. This comprehensive package will include exclusive memorabilia, a bonus HD Blu-ray containing all 35 songs performed during the show, a hardback book, a limited edition film poster, and an Ozzy Pendant Necklace. This release ensures that the legacy of the performance, which Sharon Osbourne described as a celebration of the artists who were long considered the “bastards of the music industry,” remains preserved for future generations.
