Video takes on new meaning during this difficult time
Country star Ryan Hurd has debuted a sentimental new music video for “Wish for the World.”
“We closed every show on the Platonic Tour with ‘Wish for the World.’ It was one of my favorite moments from on stage, and something special to experience with each audience,” states Hurd. “Given what the world is experiencing right now, the song has taken on a new meaning and I wanted to share some of the love, friendship, and happiness we got to witness and absorb each night with anyone who needs a little more of it right now.”
Filmed over multiple stops on his headlining Platonic Tour earlier this year, the video highlights the sense of community Hurd strives to create at every performance, as well as special moments shared amongst the crowds. Hurd co-wrote the “deeply personal and reflective” (Hollywood Life) track with Aaron Eshuis and Joe Clemmons.
“Wish for the World” is a fan-favorite standout track from Hurd’s 2019 Platonic EP, which “balances commercial bility with a very grounded and organic songwriting approach” (American Songwriter). Platonic also features Hurd’s gold-certified Top 20 hit “To A T,” the title track, “Half Hoping,” and “Florida With a Girl.”
Hurd signed an exclusive songwriting agreement with Big Machine Music last month in a deal that acquired his Lake Allegan Pub Club (ASCAP) and Hurdjamz (BMI) music publishing catalogs. Hurd officially joins BMM’s wildly talented roster, which includes Brett Young, Brandy Clark, Laura Veltz, Jessie Jo Dillon, Eric Paslay and more.
RCA singer/songwriter Ryan Hurd continues his ubiquitous rise taking his trademark, powerful lyrics, melodies, and electric live performance to the fans. Hurd is set to join wife Maren Morris for her RSVP: The Tour this summer.
