The Naked and Famous stopped by Triple J's studio to cover The Weeknd's Hot 100 chart-topper "Blinding Lights" for Like a Version back in March. Now, they've uploaded the cover to streaming services today (April 22).
For their rendition, the indie pop act gave the spacey hit an alternative bent, injecting it with Thom Powers' electric guitar and Alisa Xayalith's crystalline vocals. "I said oooh, I'm blinded by the lights/ No, I can't sleep until I feel your touch/ I said oooh, I'm drowning in the night/ Oh, when I'm like this, you're the one I trust," the pair harmonized on the track's chorus over a crashing drum kit and layered synths.
During the set, the New Zealand band also performed their own song, 2020's "Bury Us," which serves as the second single off their upcoming forth studio set, Recover.
The Weeknd's long-awaited fourth album After Hours, which includes the No. 1 hit "Blinding Lights" as its sophomore single, dropped on Friday (March 20) and spent a month in the top spot on the Billboard 200.
