Danish electronic visionary Trentemøller has officially announced his upcoming self-titled studio album, set to arrive on November 13th, 2026. The highly anticipated project marks a significant new chapter for the artist, who continues to push the boundaries of his signature sound.
To celebrate the announcement, Trentemøller has unveiled the album's lead single, 'Terrified'. The track features haunting, evocative vocals from Jonas Bjerre of the band Mew, who also took the helm as director for the song's official music video.
Reflecting on the creative process, Trentemøller noted that 'Terrified' stands out as the most pop-oriented composition on the record. While the track initially began as a shoegaze-inspired piece, the artist eventually pivoted, refining the production to center around a more precise and defined synth palette.
"When the instrumental was done, I sent it to Jonas Bjerre with a few melody ideas, which he took further while adding new melodies of his own," Trentemøller says.
The collaboration delves into themes of fear and anxiety, with Jonas Bjerre’s lyrics exploring the complex ways the human mind navigates imagined catastrophes and internal stressors. This thematic depth is matched by the track's polished, atmospheric production.
