Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez joined the country-wide protesters, from Minneapolis to Miami, and beyond, who have walked the streets to demand justice and police accountability.
The national outrage is in response to the recent death of George Floyd and other black citizens who have died in the hands of police.
“Today I had Emme and Max make me and Alex a sign for the protest,” Lopez shared with her 123 million followers. “We talked about how if one person doesn’t have justice then no one does. That this country was built on the belief of freedom and justice for all. We must take a stand for what we believe in and fight against the injustices in this world. So we continue to peacefully protest until there is change.”
Lopez, as well as her fiancé and former professional baseball player, A.Rod, shared photos and videos of them walking the streets of Los Angeles during a peaceful protest over the weekend.
“Americans everywhere are protesting for peace. For equality. For humanity. To show #BlackLivesMatter,” he wrote on Instagram. “To show we are sickened, both by the senseless way George Floyd was killed in Minneapolis and by the many brutal, unnecessary, ugly murders that came before him [...] America: It’s time to listen.”
