TOP INDIE POP SONGS – WEEK 9

You didn’t really ask for it, but we’re gonna give it to you anyways because trust us … you need this. Once you listen to today’s top best of indie pop songs you will be buying me coffee and giving random strangers on the street high fives. This week we’re highlighting music from Doja Cat, The Naked and Famous, Princess Nokia, and more. You basically don’t have to go on to Spotify or the radio at all to discover the hottest music playing. But if you do go on to Spotify be sure to follow our playlist. Heehee I have no shame. Here’s the link.

DOJA CAT - SAY SO

Doja Cat is done with her mans messing around. Highly unimpressed with the inability of his attention span and lack of dedication and interest, Doja Cat steps up her steamyness to let her significant other now that she’s the hottest thing around since unicorns.

THE NAKED AND FAMOUS - COME AS YOU ARE

The Naked and Famous can literally do no wrong. The band strips you from the walls listeners have up and invite you to come as you are. This is where you want to be, where you’re wrapped up by warm vocals. This song is for you.

KING KRULE - CELLULAR

It’s been somewhat quiet on the King Krule line but I for one am happy to hear that his single that blessed my ears in 2018 is out now on XL Recordings/Matador Records.

PRINCESS NOKIA - GREEN EGGS & HAM

For those who have seen Matilda you know what’s up with Princess Nokia and her video for “Green Eggs & Ham” for the other half who has no clue of pop culture spoiler alert. BUt for real go watch “Matilda” and go support your girl Princess Nokia on every single streaming device. This woman is a legend!

RAC - ‘NEVER LET YOU GO (FEAT. MATTHEW KOMA & HILLARY DUFF)

RAC is steeling your heart with the remake if Steelheart’s famous single “Never Let You Go.” The producer makes it even more stellar by adding non other than Lizzy McGuire to the lead the vocals. Hilary Duff is back beeeeeeeeeches. Matther Koma, you’re cool too.

LUAV - MODERN LONELINESS

Grab your tissues because LAUV hits us in the feels. “Modern Loneliness” hits all the millennial triggers that ring true to us. We have it all yet we are so very much alone.

TAYLOR SWIFT - THE MAN

Anyone else think TayTay should run for prezident of ‘Murica. She speaketh her heart and heck she could probably run a country better than a man. On a side note, can we all agree that Taylor Swift has better success not being a man?! Could you imagine!? Lol

TRIPPIE RED - I LOVE YOU FT CHANCE THE RAPPER

Just let yourself love and be loved with the beautiful serenade from poet Trippie Red who comes off as an obsessive lover more than someone in love. This song pairs well with a red cabernet wine circa 2015 and chocolate-covered oranges.

THE 1975 - THE BIRTHDAY PARTY

Bask in all this weirdness coming from The 1975. You’ll really appreciate life and all its glory. Some may think it’s a sad song but really it’s more liberating than anything else as it feels like it’s breaking free of everything.
