This historic milestone follows a monumental performance that took place in February on São Paulo’s Rua da Consolação, where the artist performed from a carnival float to an estimated 1.6 million people.
The event, which marked his first performance in Brazil in over a decade, featured a career-spanning setlist including hits such as “This Is What You Came For,” “One Kiss,” “I Need Your Love,” and “We Found Love.” The sheer scale of the crowd solidified the event as a landmark moment in electronic music history.

Guinness World Records officially verified the achievement on September 20th. Reflecting on the magnitude of the event, Calvin Harris took to Instagram to share his excitement with fans, stating: “WOW I now have the world record for ‘largest attendance for a DJ set by a single artist’ only in Brazil!!! This was a truly insane day.”
