The Mary Wallopers Announce New Album 'Paddywhackery' and 2026 Tour

The Mary Wallopers have officially announced their highly anticipated third studio album, Paddywhackery, set for release on September 18. The record follows the band's critically acclaimed 2023 effort, Irish Rock'n'Roll, and marks a significant evolution in their sound. To celebrate the announcement, the Dundalk-based group has shared the lead single, 'Crowns Of England'.

Recorded over an intense two-week period in Liverpool with producer James Skelly of The Coral, the new album aims to bridge the gap between the band's raw, unrestrained spirit and a newfound technical tightness. According to the band, the project represents a step forward in their songwriting process.

The lead single, 'Crowns Of England', offers a sharp, observational take on contemporary England. Frontman Charles Hendy explained that the track reflects the feeling of being an outsider, noting: “The song is about being in England and feeling like an outsider in all that colonialism. And it’s about Irish people who move to London and then assimilate by trying to get away from being Irish.”

Addressing the album's provocative title, the band members Andrew and Charles Hendy described it as a direct response to critics. “If people are going to call us ‘paddywhackery’ anyway, we might as well just call the album Paddywhackery,” they stated. “It’s more of a ‘fuck you’ than anything else. We want to spread like a virus and destroy anyone who thinks they are above The Mary Wallopers.”

In support of the new release, the band will embark on a major tour across the UK and Ireland this autumn. The run of shows kicks off in Edinburgh on October 13 and includes a headline performance at London’s O2 Academy Brixton, as well as dates at Dublin’s 3Arena and Glasgow’s OVO Hydro in December.
