New Duet From George Michael and Elton John Could Be On The Way

A new duet from George Michael and Elton John could be on the way, as the late pop icon’s former manager, Andros Georgiou, explores the possibility of releasing a long-lost collaboration. The two legendary artists, who previously topped the charts with their 1990s remake of ‘Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me’, reportedly began work on a track titled ‘This Kind Of Love’ over three decades ago.

The song has remained unfinished and unreleased since the 1990s. However, Georgiou has expressed a strong desire to finalize the production and release it posthumously. Speaking to The Sun, Georgiou revealed that he is currently seeking approval from Elton John to combine the existing vocal recordings into a completed track.

“I’ve got George singing the track and Elton singing the track, so the dream is to make another track,” Georgiou explained. “I would have to ask Elton’s permission to put the vocals together. I’m sure Elton would say yes because he was blown away by the song and was a huge supporter of George.”

The potential release is part of a broader effort to honor the legacy of the Wham! singer, who passed away in 2016. Georgiou is also promoting a new film titled Trojan Souls, which focuses on an unreleased 1993 album of the same name. That project was originally intended to feature collaborations with major stars such as Stevie Wonder, Sade, Seal, and Aretha Franklin, but was shelved due to label disputes.

Elton John has remained a vocal admirer of the late singer, frequently paying tribute to his talent and character. During his headline set at Glastonbury in 2023, the 'Rocket Man' singer honored George Michael on what would have been his 60th birthday, describing him as one of Britain’s most brilliant songwriters and vocalists.

As fans await further news on the potential release of ‘This Kind Of Love’, the enduring impact of the pair's musical partnership continues to resonate, serving as a testament to their shared history and mutual respect.
