Wunderhorse Guitarist Harry Fowler Surprise Releases Debut Solo Album 'Blankets'

Wunderhorse guitarist Harry Fowler has surprise released his debut solo album, Blankets, alongside the lead single ‘Perfect Colours’. The record arrived on October 30 without any prior announcement, marking a significant departure from his work with the band and serving as his first major solo project.

Described as an intimate collection of songs that the guitarist has accumulated since his teenage years, Blankets takes a stripped-back approach. The album relies on sparse, finger-picked acoustic guitar arrangements paired with delicate, emotive vocals, showcasing a more understated side of Fowler’s musical identity.

The release is accompanied by the debut single ‘Perfect Colours’, which highlights the album's gentle, piano-driven atmosphere. Listen to the track below:

Fowler is best known for his role in Wunderhorse, the band fronted by Jacob Slater. The two musicians have been friends since they were 14, having bonded over a shared love of legendary acts like Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana while attending school in Hertfordshire. Since the band's inception, they have evolved from a solo venture into a fully established four-piece, releasing acclaimed albums such as Cub and Midas.

While the band continues to work on new material—having recently debuted tracks like ‘Kerosene’ and ‘Promises’ during their 2026 North American tour—Fowler’s solo effort offers a rare glimpse into his personal songwriting process. Blankets has been released independently, with a limited run of 300 vinyl copies available through his official website.

Looking ahead, Wunderhorse is set to maintain their momentum by supporting Sam Fender on his massive 2027 UK stadium tour, which includes high-profile dates at Wembley Stadium and Manchester’s Etihad Stadium.
