Atlanta’s prestigious music label, FTR Records, recently produced “Thug Love (T.L.),” a Hip Hop and R&B track, created by the city’s up-and-coming talents, BAI, SG Blackboy Cal, and 2051 Paper. Bringing a new flavor to the traditional Gangster rap, the young artists add a pinch of romance and mystique to the conventional Valentine’s Day songs.
The single arrives with visuals, directed by Nimi Hendrix and executive produced by George Howard. The video for “Thug Love (T.L.)” features SG BlackBoy Cal, 2051 Paper, and BAI, who bring up the heat on the rooftop of one of the buildings in Atlanta. There are also different shots of them in a club, portraying the sizzling nightlife and underground vibes of the city.
“Thug Love (T.L.)” is a very honest and genuine representation of modern-day relationships that unfortunately break hearts more often than they heal. BAI, who is head over heels for another “one of them bad boys” says, “I’ll be trip trip trippin’, cause I can see how you love me so easy, don’t think I can handle the pain if you leave me, I’ve been giving you my all, please believe me.”
While BAI stands out with her compelling vocals, singing: "When I’m stuck in my ways trippin’ out on you, you know what to say, you know what to do, a hundred different ways you’d be coming through,” SG BlackBoy Cal and 2051 Paper boast that they will “show some real Thug Love” and lure in the audience with their irresistible charm and charisma.
2051 Paper, BAI, and SG BlackBoy Cal help each other shine brighter. Their first-ever collaboration, supported by FTR Records, has left fans begging for more. Whether the three will come together again is unknown, but one thing is certain that each and every one of them will go on to become one of the most sought after artists in the scene.
