More than four years after the band parted ways, Florida Georgia Line is ready to cruise together again. The band, comprised of Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, recently surprised fans with a performance at the CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee. This early June appearance served as an unofficial announcement that the duo is back in action.
Hubbard confirmed the reunion during a recent appearance on the Chicago country music station WUSN-FM US99. “I would say we got some things in the works for next year,” Hubbard told the station. “We’re excited, BK and I have been hanging out, having a good time, and you know, kind of itching to get back on stage.”
A Legacy of Country Hits
Despite having been together for just over a decade before their initial split, the duo achieved massive commercial success. Their debut studio album, Here’s to the Good Times, featured the breakout single “Cruise,” which soared to the top of the country airplay charts. A subsequent remix featuring hip-hop star Nelly reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100.
In total, five of the duo’s singles have reached number one on the US country charts. These include “Stay,” “This Is How We Roll” featuring Luke Bryan, “Dirt,” and “H.O.L.Y.”
Looking Ahead to 2027
Regarding the future of the band, Hubbard noted that they are taking a measured approach to their return. “We’ll probably put some shows together next year, and that’s about as much as we’ve planned at this point. But we’re both excited, it’s gonna be a fun year next year,” he shared.
Fans are eager to see the pair back on tour, though they may have to wait until 2027 for a full-scale production. Florida Georgia Line last headlined a tour in 2019, followed by a stint as a supporting act for Kenny Chesney. Their recent surprise performance at the CMA Fest offered a glimpse of the energy fans can expect from their upcoming shows.
Reflecting on the reunion, Hubbard told the station, “It was kind of that moment where it felt like everyone around us and the fans and everyone online got to experience the power and the healing BK and I have been getting to experience for the last year or so.”
