MLB Network Cancels Long-Running Show 'Intentional Talk'

MLB Network’s Intentional Talk has struck out. Earlier this week, the network’s PR team released a statement announcing the end of the show, which has been a staple of baseball coverage for 16 seasons. The final episode is scheduled to air on Nov. 4, 2026, shortly after the conclusion of the World Series between Tampa Bay and Milwaukee.

Launched in the spring of 2011, just two seasons after the network began broadcasting, Intentional Talk quickly established itself as a flagship program. Major League Baseball described the show as the network’s longest-running talk show, known for providing entertaining analysis and revealing player interviews driven by the signature humor of its hosts, including Ryan Dempster, Kevin Millar, and Siera Santos.

The show’s history includes a variety of notable personalities. Chris Rose served as a host alongside Kevin Millar through 2020, while Stephen Nelson also contributed as a co-host for two seasons between 2021 and 2023. Episodes typically ranged from 30 to 60 minutes, airing throughout the regular season and during select periods in the offseason.

“Intentional Talk has been an MLB Network institution for 16 seasons, showcasing baseball’s great personalities and laugh-out-loud moments to generations of fans,” the network stated. “From ‘The Best Interview in Baseball,’ to ‘Got Heeeem,’ we thank every person who has contributed to the show’s fantastic run, especially the real 1-5 and ’04 camp Kevin Millar, who has been part of IT since day one.”

Kevin Millar joined the network in 2010 following a successful 12-year playing career, while Ryan Dempster joined the show in 2014 after retiring as a pitcher with over 2,000 career strikeouts. Siera Santos joined the pair in 2023 to round out the hosting trio. The network expressed its gratitude to the hosts for their contributions over the years, noting that fans can look forward to celebrating the show’s legacy during its final weeks.

The final episodes of Intentional Talk will continue to air live Monday through Friday at 5 p.m. ET on MLB Network leading up to the series finale in November.
