MUTEK Montréal Unveils Final 2026 Lineup and Expansive Forum

MUTEK has officially unveiled the final details for its 27th Montréal edition, promising a landmark six-day festival experience that seamlessly integrates a diverse musical program with the return of the highly anticipated MUTEK Forum. Scheduled to take place from August 25th to 30th, 2026, the event is set to host nearly 120 artists from 28 countries, alongside more than 100 speakers, researchers, and technologists, cementing its status as a global hub for digital creativity.

A Venue-Spanning Celebration

This year’s festival will activate several iconic Montréal venues, including the Society for Arts and Technology, MTELUS, and Esplanade Tranquille. Notably, the festival makes a triumphant return to the Maison symphonique for the first time since 2013. Additionally, Les Grands Ballets’ Studio-Théâtre joins the festival circuit this year, serving as the dedicated home for the Play series, which focuses on cutting-edge audiovisual performance and experimentation.

The Nocturne series will once again transform the Espace SAT and the immersive Satosphere dome. Attendees can expect a late-night schedule that bridges the gap between emerging voices and electronic music icons, featuring a blend of live sets, 3D audio, and immersive visual spectacles. The lineup includes a wide array of talent such as A Guy Called Gerald, Barker, Matthew Herbert, Kali Malone, Kara-Lis Coverdale, and many others.

The Forum: Symbiotic Frequencies

Running from August 26th to 28th, the MUTEK Forum returns under the theme 'Symbiotic Frequencies.' This intellectual and creative pillar of the festival will explore the intersections of artificial intelligence, immersive technology, ecology, and electronic music. The program features a robust schedule of masterclasses, workshops, and performances from industry leaders, including Jackson 2bears, Memo Akten, and Mindy Seu.

The 2026 edition also marks a significant expansion of the MUTEK Market, providing enhanced networking opportunities for international delegates and creative professionals. By moving into new spaces at the Atrium et Studio-Théâtre des Grands Ballets and the Édifice Wilder – Espace danse, the Forum continues to evolve as a vital platform for global collaboration and exchange.
