Paradise is set to expand its ensemble for its highly anticipated third season. Series creator Dan Fogelman recently teased that fans have "no idea" where the narrative will take them next, signaling a bold new direction for the Hulu drama.
On Wednesday, Fogelman took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes photo, officially revealing that Elijah Wood (Yellowjackets) and Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) have joined the cast for the upcoming season. While specific character details remain under wraps, the reveal has already sparked intense fan speculation, particularly regarding the actors' attire in the photo, which features them wearing jumpsuits that many viewers believe hint at a space-bound storyline.
"S3," Fogelman captioned the post. "You have no idea where this thing is going. #Paradise." The excitement was echoed in the comments section by cast member Krys Marshall, who jokingly remarked, "Dan can't keep a secret to save his life!"
The third season arrives following an explosive conclusion to Season 2, which aired in March. The finale saw Sterling K. Brown’s character, Xavier, forced to evacuate the doomsday bunker as the quantum A.I. controlling the facility began to destabilize reality. The discovery of a secondary bunker located beneath the Denver airport has set the stage for a new chapter in the series.
In addition to the new arrivals, it was previously announced that ER alum Julianna Margulies would be joining the cast in a role that remains shrouded in secrecy. The show's second season featured a robust cast including Brown, Julianne Nicholson, Krys Marshall, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Enuka Okuma, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV, and Charlie Evans, with notable guest appearances by James Marsden, Shailene Woodley, Thomas Doherty, and Jon Beavers.
While the series was officially renewed for a third season in March, executive producer John Hoberg has hinted that this could be the final installment. "We know what the end is, and it’s an end that would make it very difficult to make a season four come afterward," Hoberg noted in a previous interview. As the narrative threads from the two bunkers begin to converge, viewers are left to wonder how these new characters will impact the show's ultimate conclusion.
Paradise is created and executive produced by Dan Fogelman, with production support from 20th Television. Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available to stream on Hulu.
