U.K. singer Charlotte Awbery delighted the world earlier this month with her impromptu viral cover of Lady Gaga's "Shallow" while commuting on the London tube, and now she's brought her talents across the pond. On Wednesday (Feb. 26), the newly-christened star stopped by The Ellen Degeneres Show to perform her rendition of the track.
Wearing a demure white pantsuit, Awbery belted out a full version of the theme to 2019's A Star Is Born before sitting down to chat with host Ellen DeGeneres and refute gossip that her now-viral video was staged. "I was literally on my way to meet my friend," she explained. "I'm sorry, I'm so blown away that I'm actually sitting next to you. This is...honestly, I'm absolutely overwhelmed with all of this. Thank you so much for having me, I'll just say."
During the chat, the Essex, U.K. native revealed she'd jumped from 4,000 to more than 400,000 Instagram followers and counting, including none other than Ariana Grande. "I followed her back," the full-time wedding singer revealed. "One of my friends told me this and I followed her back!"
