The Polish electronic duo Catz ’n Dogz have officially released their eighth studio album, ‘Finally’, now available via Pets Recordings across vinyl, cassette, and digital platforms. This 16-track collection marks a significant evolution for the pair, as they broaden their electronic foundation by incorporating elements of songwriting, live instrumentation, soul, funk, folk, and early-2000s indie dance.
The album is defined by its collaborative spirit, featuring contributions from a wide range of artists including Gerd Janson, Myd, Miller Blue, Luisa Wilson, Ajii, and Stuzzi. Reflecting on the creative process, the duo noted, “In a world of disposable art, we wanted to create something for special moments. A piece of work that the listener can really connect with.”
A Collaborative Journey
The development of ‘Finally’ took the duo across various creative hubs, with tracks taking shape during sessions in New York and Madrid. The collaborative nature of the record is evident in the diverse soundscapes presented: ‘Impermanent’ was crafted alongside Luisa Wilson, while Ajii lent his talents to ‘We’re Gonna Be Alright’. Furthermore, Gerd Janson collaborated on ‘Can’t Get Enough’, and Myd joined the duo for productive sessions in Madrid.
Visual Storytelling
Beyond the music, the album features the track ‘Take The Night’, accompanied by a poignant music video created in partnership with Dancing Międzypokoleniowy. This Polish initiative focuses on fostering social connection and friendship across generations by bringing together individuals aged 60 and over through dance. Filmed at a senior care home, the video serves as a visual testament to the themes of movement and human connection that permeate the album.
