Taylor Swift is helping out again in a big way. The superstar announced Thursday (March 5) that she has made a donation to help those impacted by the tornadoes that destroyed homes and killed at least 24 people in Tennessee earlier this week.
"Nashville is my home and the fact that so many people have lost their homes and so much more in Middle Tennessee is devastating to me," she wrote in an Instagram Story. "I've made a donation to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund."
Her rep confirmed to the Tennessean that Swift donated $1 million to the organization.
"My heart is with everyone in Tennessee who has been affected by the tornados," the star tweeted on Tuesday.
This is only the latest charitable act for her hometown: In 2010, when a massive flooding in Tennessee and Kentucky killed 26 people, Swift created her Taylor Swift Charitable Fund and donated $500,000. In April 2019, she gave the Tennessee Equality Project $113,000 as the advocacy group was fighting discriminatory bills in the state.
