Former BBC Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood has been charged with sexual offences against two more women. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the broadcaster has been charged with indecent assault against a teenage girl aged 16 to 17 in Hammersmith and Fulham in 1991, as well as the alleged sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman in Wandsworth in 2004.
These latest charges are in addition to those brought against Westwood in October 2025, which related to seven other women and included four counts of rape. With these new developments, Westwood is now facing a total of 17 charges involving nine women, spanning the period between 1983 and 2016.
Westwood has previously entered a plea of not guilty to the four counts of rape, nine counts of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault currently before the Southwark Crown Court. He is scheduled to face trial on January 25, 2027. Regarding the most recent allegations, he is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on a date yet to be determined.
Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy of the Metropolitan Police stated: “The women who have made reports have placed their trust in us, and we remain committed to providing them with all available support.” Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor Catherine P. Baccas added that prosecutors have established sufficient evidence to pursue these additional charges, noting that it is in the public interest to proceed with criminal proceedings.
Westwood stepped down from his Capital Xtra radio show shortly after the initial allegations surfaced and has consistently denied all claims raised against him. Previous reports have included accusations of rape at a London hotel, sexual assault at a festival, and various claims of non-consensual physical contact.
