It has been exactly one year since the release of Rosalía’s acclaimed project, Lux. To commemorate the milestone, the Spanish artist has unveiled a special anniversary box set and shared a massive 1,000-song playlist, offering fans a deeper look into the sounds that shaped her creative process during the album's development.
Reflecting on the past year, Rosalía shared her thoughts in a Substack post titled ‘Dar A Lux’. She described the journey of creating the record as both incredibly demanding and deeply significant. “I wonder if I made this album equally for others and for myself,” she noted, questioning whether she would ever undertake such an ambitious project again. She explained that her vision for the music was architectural: “When I was making this record, I was thinking about cathedrals. Trying to make a record that sounds like a cathedral, haha, I don’t know if I succeeded, but I suppose just having tried is enough.”
The singer also touched upon the grueling nature of her 2026 world tour, which spanned three continents and 17 countries across 57 shows. While she joked about surviving the intense schedule, she acknowledged the physical and emotional toll the experience took, including the notable cancellation of a performance in Milan due to illness.
To give back to her supporters, Rosalía curated a Spotify collection titled ‘1.000 TEMAS QUE TE DAN LUX’. The expansive list serves as a sonic archive of the tracks she listened to while writing, recording, and touring the album. The selection is eclectic, featuring legendary acts such as Kate Bush, The Cure, Nina Simone, Patti Smith, Queen, and Caetano Veloso.
For those looking for a tangible celebration of the record, a limited-edition anniversary box set is now available for pre-order. The collection is housed in a blue linen box with gold lettering and includes the album on etched vinyl, a new gold-edition version of the cover art, a lyric booklet, a handkerchief, and an embossed heart. The set is currently priced at £125.
The praise for Lux has been consistent since its debut, with critics labeling it a masterpiece of ambition that challenges the trend of bite-sized, background-friendly music consumption. With seven nominations for the upcoming Latin Grammy Awards—including the prestigious Album, Record, and Song of the Year categories—Rosalía remains at the center of the industry conversation.
Her influence continues to reach across genres, as evidenced by U2’s upcoming album, Carnaval De Luz. The record features a track dedicated to the singer, titled ‘The Mirror Maker (Rosalía)’. Bono has spoken openly about the song serving as a tribute to her artistry, even revealing that he sought her advice on Spanish lyrics, though the two have yet to cross paths in person.
