Robbie Furze Launches M.O.T.H.E.R. Project with Jamie T and Jamie Hince

Robbie Furze, the creative force behind The Big Pink, has introduced a new musical venture titled M.O.T.H.E.R. The project, described as an open and evolving collective rather than a fixed band, marks a significant shift in Furze’s creative output, bringing together a circle of long-time friends and collaborators.

The debut four-track EP, which arrived earlier this month, features the tracks 'My Love', 'Real Human', 'Traitor', and 'Surrender'. The project boasts high-profile contributions, including Jamie T and Jamie Hince of The Kills.

“M.O.T.H.E.R. is a project that responds and adapts to what’s happening in the moment,” Furze explained. “This EP came from losing my mother, and everything around it grew out of that – a band of brothers coming together. The next release will be a completely different colour and approach.”

The lead single, 'My Love', serves as a poignant centerpiece for the EP. Furze noted that the track, while reading like a love story, was deeply influenced by personal loss. “It came from losing my mother and having my daughter at the same time, just trying to hold onto hope, because love is everything and all around. It sings like a hymn,” he added.

The project is designed to be fluid, with future installments expected to feature shifting line-ups and diverse sonic directions. The accompanying black-and-white music video for 'My Love' was directed by Madrid-based visual artist YZA Voku.

This new chapter follows The Big Pink’s 2022 return with their third studio album, 'The Love That’s Ours', which also featured collaborative efforts from Jamie T and Jamie Hince. As M.O.T.H.E.R. continues to develop, it promises to remain a platform for spontaneous, collaborative artistry.
