Wilco have officially announced a landmark series of live shows in Marrakech, marking the band's first-ever performances in Africa. The residency, held in partnership with Pilgrimage of Sound, is scheduled to take place from March 25 to 27 next year.
Following a format similar to their acclaimed 2023 residency at Reykjavík’s Eldborg Hall in Iceland, Wilco will perform three distinct shows over three consecutive nights. Fans can expect a completely unique experience each evening, as the band has committed to playing entirely different setlists with no songs repeated throughout the weekend.
The event is designed as an immersive travel experience. Ticket packages include four or five nights in luxury accommodations, ranging from traditional Riads within the historic 1,000-year-old Medina to modern hotels in the city center. The experience also covers airport transfers, daily shuttles to the venue, and exclusive merchandise.
Beyond the music, attendees are encouraged to explore the local culture. The itinerary offers optional curated excursions, including sunrise hot air balloon rides and guided hikes through the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. For those looking to extend their stay, multi-day tours ranging from three to 16 days are available to help guests further explore Morocco.
Pre-sale registration is currently open, with pre-sale options beginning Wednesday, June 10. General ticket sales will commence on Friday, June 12, at 6pm BST.
The band, led by Jeff Tweedy, continues to maintain a busy schedule. Following their 2023 studio album Cousin and the subsequent Hot Sun Cool Shroud EP, the group is preparing for a UK and European headline tour this summer, including a performance at London’s Eventim Apollo Hammersmith in August.
Tweedy has remained prolific in his solo endeavors as well, recently sharing an emotive cover of Cameron Winter’s ‘Love Takes Miles’ and contributing to various collaborative projects, including performances at the 2025 Newport Folk Festival.
