Elegie Unveils ‘Inner Escape from Alcatraz’ Live Set and EP

Electronic artist Elegie has officially unveiled her latest project, ‘Inner Escape from Alcatraz’, released via Dark City Music. This immersive three-track EP serves as the studio counterpart to a striking live DJ set recorded within the historic walls of the Alcatraz jail in San Francisco, California.

The EP features the tracks ‘Ghosts of The Rock’, ‘Jailer’, and ‘Clint Westwood’. Each composition is designed to translate the atmosphere of the filmed performance into a sonic experience, utilizing melodic and cinematic techno to explore the tension between the prison's heavy history and the expansive, natural beauty of the surrounding bay.

The narrative behind the project is deeply layered. ‘Jailer’ focuses on the figures who once inhabited the prison, ‘Ghosts of The Rock’ contemplates the remnants of the past, and ‘Clint Westwood’ offers a direct nod to the legendary escape narrative popularized by Clint Eastwood’s film, ‘Escape from Alcatraz’.

The live DJ set, which was broadcast by 1001Tracklists, was the result of nearly a year of development. Elegie designed the performance to symbolize the process of breaking free from internal limitations, incorporating a mix of IDs, reworks, and original productions that resonate with the silence and unique acoustics of the island.

Looking ahead, Elegie is scheduled to perform on July 4th, 2026, at Nora En Pure’s upcoming event at Ruins Napa Valley. She will be joined by fellow artists Verbala, G-STAV, and Operator SF.
