Mack Loenz has officially presented his debut album, ‘From The Heart’, released through Maceo Plex’s esteemed label, Lone Romantic. This new project, based in Barcelona, serves as the latest creative alias for Larry McCormick, widely recognized for his work as Exzakt. Under the Mack Loenz moniker, the artist explores a sophisticated fusion of electro foundations, melodic vocal delivery, and rich analogue synthesis, all while paying homage to the iconic sounds of 1980s electronic music.
The 10-track LP, From The Heart, demonstrates a versatile range, shifting seamlessly between high-energy, club-oriented compositions and more introspective, atmospheric pieces. The album kicks off with the driving bass and arpeggios of ‘Follow Me’, setting a rhythmic tone that persists throughout the collection. As the record progresses, tracks like ‘Switching My Flow’ introduce a heavier, more aggressive aesthetic characterized by sub-bass and classic hoover synths.
In contrast, the album also delves into deeper emotional territory. ‘It’s Complicated’ offers a melancholic shift in direction, while ‘Trust Issues’ showcases the artist's ability to build tension through sweeping leads and expertly processed vocals. The journey concludes with ‘Back To The Stars’, providing a final, expansive resolution following the darker, more urgent textures found in ‘Waiting Game’.
