Taylor Frankie Paul Reacts to Doug Mason's Bachelorette Tell-All

Following the recent Bachelorette tell-all interview featuring Doug Mason, Taylor Frankie Paul has shared her perspective on the candid discussion. Mason, who secured the final rose during Paul's unaired season, spoke openly about his experience on the show, specifically addressing his concerns regarding the status of Paul's previous relationship with Dakota Mortensen.

“There were a couple key moments that made me doubt if Taylor and I could make it long term,” Mason explained during the interview. “The main reason that I doubted Taylor was I had this inkling that Taylor was not over her ex… I don’t know, I had this strange, gut feeling and I wrote about it multiple times in my journal.”

Mason further reflected on the challenges they faced, admitting he felt like a placeholder during their time together. “I think over time I realized that I was the replacement for that two-month period. And the reason that’s true is because, as she says, the night she left the engagement, she went back to Dakota,” he added.

Following her return from filming, Paul’s personal life became a focal point as she navigated connections with both Mortensen and another former partner, Ben Lambert, ultimately leading to her split from Mason. Reflecting on the initial spark, Paul noted during the fifth season of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, “[Doug] was the one that I liked from night one. There was instant chemistry. The entire time, I didn’t think we were going to ‘get engaged,’ per se, but then at the last minute, he did propose, and I said yes.”

Despite the difficult conclusion to their relationship, Paul took to the comments section of the interview's preview to express her support for Mason. “We became closer after all this,” she wrote, acknowledging his vulnerability. “He's a good soul when he opens up.”
