Switzerland-based project JOHANNSON, led by Nenad Jovanovic, has officially made his debut on the EG Spotlight series. With the release of EG Spotlight.333, now available on SoundCloud and Mixcloud, the artist brings over twenty-five years of electronic music expertise to the forefront, blending a seasoned DJ perspective with a studio-focused approach to groove and melody.
The mix is a testament to JOHANNSON’s refined musical identity, unfolding with a measured pace that prioritizes a warm, fluid listening experience. By balancing his own original productions with a selection of tracks from artists such as Mariline, Tony Cortez, Grupo Enkele, Papayatropical, UN*DEUX, Jude and Frank, Sllash and Doppe, Loz Seka, Ramon Bedoya, and Angel Heredia, he creates a journey that maintains dancefloor momentum while leaving room for introspection.
JOHANNSON’s creative philosophy is deeply rooted in the influence of early synth pioneers like Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Giorgio Moroder, and Jan Hammer. This inspiration is evident in his commitment to emotional contrast, a concept he encapsulates in his motto: “It’s all about mixed emotions.” This ethos allows him to craft sets that connect physical movement with deep, atmospheric introspection.
