Ripperton has stepped into the latest edition of EGLO, presenting a deeply reflective mix that serves as a sonic companion to his recent collaborative work. The session is centered around 'Sirens,' his new collaboration with Joy Frempong, which was recently released via Compost Records.
The track 'Sirens' represents a decade-long creative evolution. The project first took root after Ripperton discovered Frempong’s work with OY on Swiss national radio. Over the years, the concept matured into a sophisticated piece of music, incorporating Arthur Hnatek’s intricate percussion, Sacha Unger’s guitar textures, and Frempong’s haunting vocal performance.
For EGLO.070, Ripperton expands on the atmospheric depth of his latest release. The mix is a carefully paced journey that traverses ambient electronics, experimental textures, and meditative songwriting. The selection features a diverse array of artists, including Dagmar Zuniga, Gombeen & Doygen, Raica, Calexico, Marta, 36, Anthony Calonico, Lee Tracy & Isaac Manning, Zyggurat, and Eliana Glass. Furthermore, the mix incorporates notable contributions from Colleen, Anthony Child, Hania Rani, Lord of the Isles, and Radiohead, alongside two distinct versions of 'Sirens'.
As a longstanding pillar of the Swiss electronic music scene, Ripperton has built a reputation for his nuanced approach to production. His discography spans releases on esteemed labels such as Innervisions, Border Community, Planet E, ESP Institute, and his own imprint, Tamed Musiq.
